Man crushed to death at bus stand

A man on way to attend a housewarming ceremony in Chikkabanavara was crushed to death and a woman was injured severely when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Company (BMTC) hit them in front of the Travel and Traffic Management Centre (TTMC) in Yeshwantpur here on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ramanna Gowda (32), a Kadirenahalli resident.

The injured Pooja Kumari (28) is a chartered accountant working near Shivananda Circle.

The bus (route number 401-B2 – RPC Layout to Yeshwantpur), which the police said was being recklessly driven by Kumar, rammed them while they were entering the TTMC at noon.

Both were crushed between the bus and the wall, sustaining head and hand injuries, the Yeshwantpur traffic police said.

Pedestrian dies

William James (38) was killed and three others were injured when a speeding car hit them at Central Silk Board junction in BTM Layout here at 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Madivala traffic police, quoting witnesses, said the car, driven by Dharma (22) who has been arrested, dragged James several metres.

Mugged

Mansur Ali Khan (24) of Nayandanahalli was robbed of Rs. 15,000 near Nagalingeshwara Temple on 13th Cross of Banashankari 2nd stage here onTuesday night.
