Man beaten to death by neighbours

A 32-year-old man was beaten to death by his neighbour over a trivial row in Kalasipalya on Wednesday. The deceased, Silambarasan, a resident of Vinoba Nagar was trying to pacify his neighbour Varadaraju, who was having a fight with Silabarasan sister over storing water.

Heated argument ensued between Varadaraju and Silambarasan. Two other neighbours,identified as Imbu and Seena, supported Varadaraju and the trio started rigging blows and punches on Silambarasan.

Silambarasan collapsed and was rushed to Victoria hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The police have taken up a case of murder against Varadaraju and arrested him. The police are also on the lookout for Imbu and Seena, who are on the run.

The police said Silambarasan was chronic alcoholic and was umemployed. There were no external injuries on the body and we are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death, a senior police officer said.
