A 24-year-old man was detained by the Jeevan Bima Nagar police here on Monday for throwing stones and damaging the car of Minister for Health and Family Welfare Arvind Limbavali.

Doddappa from Surapura town in Gulbarga district, who had completed his ITI diploma course, came to Bangalore and had approached the Minister seeking his recommendation to get a permanent job at the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). But, on Monday, when he went to meet Mr. Limbavali at his residence in Thippasandra for a recommendation letter, the latter’s staff sent him away.

Upset over this, Doddappa pelted stones at Mr. Limbavali’s car as he left for the Vidhana Soudha. He was caught and handed over to the police.

Doddappa has been working at KMF in Kumbalgod on Mysore Road for the past two years on contract basis and had been visiting the Minister’s house for the past 10 days for the recommendation letter.
