As almost 70,000 aspirants were desperately trying to log in to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website to see the results of the first round of counselling for Common Entrance Test (CET) rank holders on Wednesday, the two girls who were injured in the Malleswaram blast on April 17 — Leesha N.S. and Rakshita Sujai — were waiting for the State government to fulfil its promise of allotting them government seats in engineering colleges.
Rakshita from Seshadripuram College, who underwent skin graft on her exposed left leg bone, had secured a CET rank of 62,295. She was allotted a college in Nelamangala for computer science, but is not going to take the seat. “I will not participate in the second round of counselling as I am awaiting the government orders to reach us,” she said.
On the other hand, Leesha, who was unable to secure a rank in the CET, is awaiting the results of the II Pre University supplementary exam. The student of Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College for Women had her left leg bone crushed in the blast.
