Asking students to keep textbooks at home and providing them with a projector using which they can read textbooks from the screen, and one comprehensive book for all subjects besides making students do their class and home assignments in worksheets: these are some of the suggestions that the State government plans to make to the Central Advisory Board of Education to reduce the weight of school bags. Among the other suggestions are introducing a two-bag concept: big bag on some days and small one on others.

The Department of State Educational Research and Training has received several suggestions and plans to hold meetings with stakeholders before submitting the final report to CABE. The State government also plans to come out with a policy on the same.
