Dejected over his break up with his girlfriend, a 26-year-old call centre employee committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of his office building in Koramangala on Valentine’s Day.

The deceased, Shuboor Rahman Rizwi, was a team leader in a call centre near Forum Mall.

Other call centre staff recall how they saw Rizwi talking on the phone even as he climbed on to the windowsill and plunged to his death.

Passersby, seeing Rizwi lying in a pool of blood, rushed him to St. John’s Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The Adugodi police recovered a suicide note from his trouser pocket. The letter, addressed to his girlfriend, said he “loved her so much that he could not live without her”. He said he was ending his life and he apologised to her for the extreme step, while asking her not to worry over his death.

A native of Bhopal, Shuboor was a commerce graduate and had joined the call centre in 2009. He was living with his two brothers in a rented house in BTM Layout.
