Any tax revenue loss faced by the State due to Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be borne by the Union government for up to five years, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was in the district to inaugurate various developmental works at Kodigenahalli.

Addressing mediapersons at the helipad in Kodigenahalli on Saturday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that GST has been implemented by all of us. If the tax revenue comes down below the average of 14% then the losses will be borne by the Centre.

He also said farm loan waiver up to ₹50,000 in co-operative sector has helped the marginal, small and big farmers.

Meanwhile, many journalists wore black ribbon on their arm as a mark of protest against the order of the Legislature to imprison and impose fine on two editors.
