November 13, 2013 11:30 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:11 pm IST - BANGALORE:

Three persons, including an MLC, sustained minor injuries when a lorry rammed a KSRTC bus in which they were travelling, at Nelamagala in Bangalore Rural limits on Wednesday.

BJP MLC Somanna V. Bevinamarad boarded the bus at Shiggavi, and was travelling to Belgaum. The MLC, driver Basavraj Bijjannanavar and Sukumar, another passenger, sustained minor injuries. The others were unhurt.

As the bus doors did not open after the accident, the passengers broke a glass window. The driver also opened the door on his side, through which passengers got off the bus.

The MLC experienced a panic attack following the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to a hospital in the city.

The Nelamangala police have registered a case and are attempting to trace the lorry driver who is absconding. The lorry has been seized.
