Lokayukta officials searched the office of the BDA on Friday. They took six persons, including two officials and touts, into custody and seized unaccounted money amounting to Rs. six lakh.

The search was conducted following a series of complaints about rampant corruption. On Friday, a team of officials locked the gates before searching the premises. A few officials checked the vehicles parked in the premises.

An Area Development officer (ARO), who had kept Rs 1.30 lakh in the car, and a Town Planning Section Officer (TPSO), who had kept Rs. 1 lakh in the car, were taken into custody. Additional Director General of Police H.N. Satya Narayana Rao said they would be booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act since they did not give satisfactory replies about the source of the money.
