Lokayukta police raid offices of BBMP officials

July 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:43 am IST - BENGALURU:

Lokayukta police on Thursday morning searched the residences and offices of three BBMP Engineering division staff, and the house of an employee of a private firm, Vrushabhadri Constructions.

This was in connection with an earlier Lokayukta raid on house in Vyalikaval linked to R.R. Nagar MLA, Muniratna, where police seized over 800 BBMP files.

Mr. Muniratna and Ideyavendan were named accused in the case.

Thursday’s raids come in the wake of a recent High Court direction to the Lokayukta police to complete investigation in all pending cases.

The BBMP officials who were under the radar on Thursday include two executive engineers – Kempe Gowda, a resident of HBR Layout, and Malatesh, a resident of Kodigehalli, apart from I.K Vishwas, an assistant engineer, a resident of Basavanagudi.

The three officers are suspected to be involved in a bill scam. The police also raided the house of Jayaram, an employee of Vrushabhadri Constructions, the firm said to have been the biggest beneficiary and running the show at the Vyalikaval house.
