Lokayukta officials book five officials after State-wide raids

Lokayukta officials conducted simultaneous raids across the State and booked five government officials for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs. 4.6 crore in total.

Based on information, several teams conducted raids in 14 places in and around Bidar, Davangere, Haveri, Kalburgi and Karwar.

The accused were identified as Rajendra Kumar Gandage, First Division Assistant, Commercial Tax Office, Bidar; Prabhakar Shetty, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Davanagere; Shakuntala, Superintendent, Women and Child Development Department, Haveri; Shivappa Gurulingappa Kamasagi, District Manager, State Minority Development Corporation, Kalaburagi; and Arun Krishna Nayak, Manager, Taluk Agricultural Produce Marketing Limited, Karwar. The accused have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Lokayukta officials said.
