Lineman electrocuted while fixing transformer

A young lineman was electrocuted in Marappa Garden while repairing a transformer in Narayanappa Block on Saturday, the J.C. Nagar police said.

Prashant (21), a resident of Hennur Bande, had been asked to repair the transformer by his contractor even before Bescom had permitted the line clearance.

The police booked the private contractor and the divisional Bescom authorities for negligence.

Painter murdered

A painter was found murdered near Jayarajnagar Park in Murphy Town on Saturday, the Ulsoor police said.

Local residents found the body of Chandrashekhar (31), a resident of Banaswadi, near the park early morning and called the police. The police said apart from being stabbed in the stomach, thighs and other parts, his head appeared to have been smashed with a rock. They said the victim, who is divorced, had a five-year-old son.

Student ends life

A pre-university student hanged himself at his home in Geddalahalli on Friday night.

The Hennur police said Selvakumar (17), who did not have enough attendance, was not given a hall ticket to sit for his exams and his upset parents had ticked him off.
