Lineman electrocuted at Jalahalli Circle

Vasant Kumar (30), a lineman, was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live wire while repairing a transformer at Jalahalli Circle here on Sunday evening.

According to the police, Kumar had climbed the electrical pole around 8 p.m.

Both BESCOM engineers and the private contractors had failed to ensure that the power was off before the repair, according to the Peenya police who have registered a case against both.

Kumar was an employee with a private contactor.
