The foundations of the Infant Jesus Shrine of Bangalore were laid in 1969 with nothing more than a Jesus statue brought from the Sacred Heart Shrine and placed inside an old tent. After existing as a ‘tent church’ for over eight years, the parish was officially erected in 1972. A new church, designed by architects Thomas Associates, was built on the site in 2005, with a fan shaped hall to accommodate about 2,500 people. Photo: Karan Ananth
