Legislature panel seeks report before November 6

A Legislature Committee on Women and Child Welfare has sought a detailed report before November 6 from the State Home Department on the sexual assault on a three-year-old girl at a school in Jalahalli.

The committee, headed by Congress MLA Shakuntala Shetty, met on Thursday. They condemned the sexual abuse of the girl and sought details on installation of CCTV cameras in the school, details of FIRs registered and steps taken to ensure safety of girl students on school premises.

The panel also sought a report on the assault on Director General of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Rashmi V. in Mysore. The Home Department has been asked to submit the report within 15 days.
