Law & order: BJP petitions Governor

November 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - BENGALURU:

Alleging that the indifferent attitude of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had resulted in paralysis of the administrative machinery and deterioration of law and order in the State, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday sought Governor Vajubhai R. Vala’s interference.

A delegation of BJP leaders, led by State unit president Pralhad Joshi, who submitted a memorandum to the Governor, alleged that his proximity to the Chief Minister had helped in the continuation of Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya in the Cabinet despite his wife being caught on a TV camera while allegedly receiving bribe.

Blaming the government for the riots during the official celebration of Tipu Jayanti, they alleged that the Chief Minister had developed an aversion towards the majority community.

Expressing concern over the rape of a woman in the Cubbon Park, they alleged that the safety and security of women had been compromised in the State, especially Bengaluru city.
