Landlady, neighbour held on charge of abetment to suicide

Tenant ended her life after she was assaulted by landlady

A homemaker hanged herself to the ceiling of her house at Nayandahalli on Friday morning. Acting on a note left by the deceased, Chandra Layout police arrested the landlady and a neighbour. The deceased, Devi (21), was living with her husband Kumar, a driver. Police sources say the landlady, Susheelamma, had a bitter tiff with Devi suspecting her of having an extra marital affair with her son. On Thursday afternoon. Susheelamma, along with a neighbour Meenakshi,barged into Devi’s house, dragged her out and assaulted her.

Later, Devi was found hanging in her house. Police found a note in which she blamed the landlady and their neighbour for her death.

Chandra Layout police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Susheelamma and Meenakshi.
