Italian super-luxury sports car Automobili Lamborghini entered the south Indian market with its new showroom in the city here on Tuesday.
Spread over an area of around 4350 sq ft, the showroom is the company's third showroom in India.
The new dealership will offer the entire range of Lamborghini products such as the Aventador and the newly launched model Huracan, according to company sources.
In India, the new model Huracan is priced at around Rs. 3.43 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) while Aventador is priced at Rs. 4.92 (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the company said customers in Karnataka need to pay an extra 2 per cent over the Delhi price.
With the new showroom in Bengaluru, the Italian car manufacturer is planning to tap other southern States.
“Bengaluru comprises a high density of high-net-worth individuals (HNI). Lamborghini Bengaluru is part of the plans to strengthen the brand's presence and sales network in southern India,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
According to company officials, it has already sold around three cars from the Bengaluru showroom during the soft launch. Lamborghini is also planning to hold various events to increase the brand awareness in south India.
“India is a huge market and holds immense potential for selling luxury sports cars. Lamborghini being an early entrant in the market, we want to retain our edge over others. There is a high awareness about the brand here, but sales are low. We need to convert it into sales through various campaigns,” Mr. Winkelmann added.
