A 22-year-old labourer was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of armed men in K.R. Puram on Sunday night.

Venkatesh, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, was returning home with his friends after attending a fair. The accused reportedly had an altercation with Venkatesh’s brother, Shivashankar, and friend Ganesh over a trivial row. The scuffle took an ugly turn when Venkatesh tried to intervene. The accused, identified as Channa, Appi, Jaswant, Manja and Abhi, allegedly stabbed Venkatesh with a knife and escaped.

Venkatesh was rushed to Bowring Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Based on a complaint, the K.R. Puram police have arrested Jaswanth and Manja and are on the lookout for the other accused.
