Labourer killed in wall collapse, another hurt

A construction worker was killed and another was injured when a wall collapsed on them at Valmikinagar in Chamarajpet on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Alam (26), while the injured is his co-worker Rafiqullah (60). Both of them hail from West Bengal and are residents of Fraser Town.

The workers were demolishing a wall on the second floor of a house when a portion of it collapsed on them. They sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital, but Alam died. Rafiqullah suffered a fracture besides injuring his shoulder and is being treated at the hospital. His condition is said to be stable.

The two workers had been hired on contract by one Ghouse Khan. The Chamarajpet police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against Ghouse Khan who has been arrested.
