A construction labourer, identified as Vasanth (20), was arrested on charge of attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl in his house on Sunday.

The incident came to light when the victim, daughter of construction labourers in T. Hosahalli, complained of uneasiness on Thursday. The couple took her a doctor who examined her and said that she was sexually assaulted.

Parents lodged a complaint with the Bagalur police against Vasanth, who works in a brick klin. Police arrested him under POCSO Act.
