Sightseeing in the city without proper transportation can be challenging for tourists. To make such trips hassle-free, the Department of Tourism and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) have tied up with cab aggregator Ola to offer local sightseeing tours to popular destinations in and around Bengaluru. Called ‘Bengaluru Detours’, guests will be picked up from their doorsteps for the fully customised and curated tours. The package includes tour guides, refreshments and lunch.
Depending on the size of the group, customers can book either a sedan, an MUV or an SUV.
At present, two packages are being offered. They are Bengaluru-Nandi Tour and Wildlife of Bengaluru. The outstation tours are Bengaluru-Mysuru-Madikeri, Bengaluru-Ooty via Mysuru, Bengaluru- Hampi via Chitradurga, Bengaluru- Shravanbelagola-Belur-Halebeedu.
Minister for Tourism Priyank Kharge lauded the initiative of KSTDC and hopes it would help tourists plan their itinerary, choose the most suitable package and experience a curated tour.
Bookings for these tours can be made through the KSTDC’s website www.kstdc.co at least two days in advance.
