Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra on Tuesday conducted a survey of tanks off NH 75 passing through the district. He was accompanied by Tahasildar Vijayanna and Lanco officials.

The inspection comes after Ammerahalli and Maderahalli tanks failing to receive water despite heavy rains in the past few days, Taking exception to culverts being poorly maintained, Mr. Thrilokchandra directed Lanco official Govindaraju to take necessary measures for proper maintenance of culverts to ensure flow of water.

Mr. Thrilokchandra also directed Mr. Vijayanna to take stringent action and remove evict encroachments on the foothills of Shatashringa hill tracts. Mr. Thrilokchandra said he will visit the location after a week and expects that the encroachments will be cleared by then.
