The Kollegal police have arrested two persons on the charge of murdering two Kerala-based businessmen settled in Bangalore, and seized weapons and vehicles used for the crime.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Chenna Basavanna told presspersons here on Sunday that the Range Forest Officer of Jageri near Satyagala in Kollegal taluk lodged a police complaint on February 10 after finding two half-burnt beheaded bodies in the Emmatti forest limits.

Mr. Basavanna said that after post-mortem, parts of the bodies were sent to Bangalore for DNA examination. He said on February 12, he was informed that Suji Thomas and Binnos Thomas, businessmen from HSR Layout in Bangalore, were missing for the past few days. The police traced their mobile phone calls to Satyagala.

Mr. Basavanna said the phone call details gave clues about the culprits and Ningaraju of Puttashetty Doddi village in Kollegal taluk was arrested on February 15. Mr. Basavanna said Mr. Ningaraju confessed during interrogation that he murdered the two at the behest of his employer, Arun Rao of Bangalore on February 7. The police have detained Mr. Rao.
