March 28, 2015 07:24 pm | Updated 07:24 pm IST - HUBBALLI:

Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, on Saturday, alleged that the State government was conspiring to twist the suspicious death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of a function here on Saturday, Mr. Shettar said that the government was trying to twist the case for covering up its failure and was indulging in character assassination of a woman IAS officer.

He said that in the garb of conducting a CID inquiry, the State government had managed to erase all the CCTV camera footage from the apartment where Mr. Ravi was found dead.

He demanded that before initiating an inquiry into the case, officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should question the CID officials who investigated into the case. Automatically, the truth would come out, he said.

Mr. Shettar said that he would demand a CBI inquiry into all the major cases in the last 30 years in the State, including the Arkavati Layout denotification case.
