A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on charges of raping a nine-year-old girl in Electronics City.
According to the police, on Sunday, the victim, who was returning home from school alone, was overpowered, blindfolded and then subjected to sexual assault. The seriously injured girl later reached home and her parents lodged a complaint with the police.
InvestigationBased on the descriptive particulars given by the victim, nine police teams fanned out into the area, and zeroed in on the accused on Tuesday. During a detailed interrogation, he confessed to the crime, DCP (South East) T.D. Pawar said.
Some evidence collected from the scene of crime also corroborated his involvement, he said.
The boy, who was allegedly habituated to watching porn clips on mobile phones, had an eye on the girl. On Saturday, when the girl was returning home, the boy struck, police said.
The arrested boy is to be produced before the juvenile justice board.
