Janardhan Reddy and nine others get bail

They were chargesheeted by the CBI for allegedly exporting 6.05 tonnes of iron ore from the port with fake permits

The former Minister G. Janardhan Reddy and nine others, who are accused in the case of illegal mining and export of iron ore from Belekeri port, were granted bail on Monday by a special CBI court in the city.

The nine include Kudlgi MLA B Nagendra, Kuruba Nagaraj associated with Eagle Traders and Logistics, and K. Janardhan Reddy associated with SB logistics, the two companies that were allegedly shipping the ore from the Belekeri port.

However, all the 10 accused have other cases pending against them.

They were chargesheeted by the CBI for allegedly exporting 6.05 tonnes of iron ore from the port with fake permits. Mr. Reddy is accused of allegedly assisting in the process of acquiring the fake permits. Eagle Traders and Logistics had allegedly sold the illegal ore to S.B. Logistics for exporting.
