The Education Department has asked the Jalahalli school, where a three-year-old was allegedly raped last month, to close down pre-primary classes, and classes six and seven, which were run illegally. A notice has been issued to the school to close the sections within one week, the in-charge Block Education Officer (North 2) H.N. Raju, who issued the noticed on Tuesday, told The Hindu .

The development is likely to affect 567 students of these sections. A criminal case has already been booked against the management for cheating and running these sections illegally.
