After a sultry morning and a pleasant afternoon, the city experienced a good drenching that caused traffic jams and at least 16 tree falls on Monday.

Trees were uprooted near the Surana College at South End Circle, near Raheja Towers, Koramangala, Vijayanagar Main Road, R.T. Nagar 1 Stage, New BEL Road, Pipeline Road, Vijayanagar, ISRO Layout, Old Airport Road, Jayanagar 4 Block, R.P.C. Layout, Jaynagar 4 T Block, Basaveshwarnagar 3 Cross, J.P. Nagar, B.T.M. Layout, and Kumaraswamy Layout.

An official at the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike central control room said: “We are trying to attend to the complaints and remove the fallen trees. However, the process is still under way as we have been getting several calls since evening.”

The city received 14.6 mm rainfall and HAL Airport received 25.6 mm.
