It was a different Sunday for over 250 history-sheeters against whom there are multiple cases pending. They cleaned up a dispensary, school, park, and a storm-water drain on the Magadi Road police quarters premises as part of a drive conducted by the west division police.

The west division police, whose jurisdiction covers several sensitive areas, have so far opened 650 history-sheets against habitual offenders.

“This exercise was to not only instil civic sense among anti-social elements but to bring them back into the mainstream,” a senior police officer said. The police had selected young men for the cleaning drive in which they enthusiastically participated.

While the entire area was cleaned, their efforts to paint the school and the park could not be completed owing to rain. The officer also said that after a detailed observation, they could recommend the names of anti-social elements to be dropped from the list of history-sheeters.
