Inquiry against police inspector for allegedly manhandling media crew

City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi has ordered an inquiry against an inspector from Peenya police station for allegedly manhandling media crew while they went to cover a road accident in Peenya on Friday.

A private bus mowed down an unidentified pedestrian near T. Dasarahalli. The driver of the bus fled the spot abandoning the vehicle. A few media persons who went to the spot to cover the incident were allegedly manhandled and abused by Inspector Yathiraju.

Based on a complaint from presspersons, Mr. Reddi ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police (north division) to conduct an enquiry and submit a report, based on which action would be taken.
