IT giant Infosys has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police against a person for sending an email to senior executives of the firm with defamatory and vulgar content.
In his complaint, Santosh Nair, a senior executive of the company, stated that a person identified as Alpesh Patel sent an email with vulgar content. He said that Patel claimed to have written to the then President Pranab Mukherjee and U.S. President Donald Trump, asking the U.S. Government to not give any work to Infosys, as the company was spreading terrorism.
The cyber crime police attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case under section 67 (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act, 2008, in this regard.
The police are trying to track down the accused through the IP address for further investigation. The police suspect that the accused is a disgruntled employee, who wanted to harass the top executives to settle scores.
