The violent ABVP protest outside Amnesty International India’s office in Indiranagar on Friday left residents worried about their safety.
“The place where the incident took place is right opposite a park that is frequented by children daily,” said Indiranagar resident Praveen Sundaram.
Residents said there were terrified when ABVP members gathered in the normally quiet lane. “We were worried on hearing that the protestors had come with two cans of petrol. Such gatherings cannot be allowed to take place in residential areas,” said Sneha Nandihal, another resident.
