An eight-foot long Indian rock python found its way into the city and was spotted at the Sai Baba Ashram in Kadugodi, Whitefield, late on Tuesday night. It was rescued by local rescue volunteers.

“Just 15 minutes into finding it, a huge crowd had gathered around the snake, at around 10 p.m. People were taking videos, trying to poke it and figure out what to do with it, when we reached the spot. We quickly dispersed the crowd and managed to transfer the snake into a gunny bag. We have sent it for a medical examination, after which it will be released into the forest,” said C. S. Nagabhushana, a snake rescue volunteer with the BBMP.

According to Mr. Nagabhushana, the snake could have entered the city from any of the surrounding villages or towns.
