Unable to bear the tragic death of his wife and two children, a 45-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his house at Yeliyuru in Devanahalli on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Subramani, was depressed after his wife Sujatha (37) and elder son Suryateja (18) committed suicide by coming under a moving train, following the suicide of Chandrateja (15), Subramani and Sujatha’s younger son, earlier this week.
According to the police, Sujatha and Suryateja reprimanded Chandrateja to focus on studies after he failed in the test Suryateja gave him at home. Humiliated, Chandrateja allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Sunday. Shocked, Sujatha and Suryateja decided to commit suicide on Wednesday by jumping in front of a moving train on the outskirts of Devanahalli.
The police recovered their bodies along with a suicide note in which Suryateja requested his father to bury him with his cricket bat, ball and new slippers, next to Chandrateja’s grave.
An inconsolable Subramani, who perforemed the last rites of his wife and son, days after burying his younger son, was found hanging at his residence in Yeliyuru.
The Chikkaballapura rural police have taken up a case.
