Illegal schools: no clarity yet

January 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - Bengaluru:

Even as the Department of Public Instruction identified 1,266 illegal schools in Bengaluru Urban district over a month ago, the government is still undecided on what action to initiate against them.

Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar on Thursday said that the decision had to be taken in the interest of students. “If there is no nearby school, where will we shift the students who are admitted in the illegal school? Some of the schools have approached the court and we will have to have a detailed meeting before taking a decision,” he said.
