II PUC exams come to an end; results likely in early May

The II Pre University examination, which got off to a shaky start with alleged question paper leaks, came to an end on Thursday with students taking the Hindi, Telugu and Sanskrit papers. Department of Pre University Education officials said that the results will be announced in early May.

As many as 6.13 lakh students (without considering absentees) wrote the exams that began on March 13 across the State in 961 exam centres. According to a press note, 186 students were debarred for indulging in malpractices. The calendar of events for the coming academic year has been announced on the department’s website. The academic year will begin on May 30, 2013 and end on March 31, 2014. The mid-term holidays will be between October 7 and October 27, 2013, while the summer vacations will be from April 1, 2014 to May 29, 2014. The last date for admissions to both I PUC and II PUC is June 15. 2013.
