II PU physics exam put off after question paper leak

After the II pre-university maths examination was postponed following leakage of the question paper, the physics exam, that was to be held on Thursday, has also been postponed after the question paper leaked. However, psychology, Carnatic music and Hindusthani music examinations will be held as per schedule.

The Department of Pre-University Education will announce the date of the re-examination shortly.

“The physics examination has been postponed because the question paper has leaked,” Department of Pre-University Education Director Rashmi V. Mahesh, told The Hindu lateon Wednesday night.

She added that the paper leaked in Tumkur. “The police have made arrests across the State in connection with the Maths paper leak,” she added.

Asked whether extra precautions will be taken for the chemistry exam, which will be held on March 28, she said that the old question paper will not be used.

CID probe

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department is yet to start the investigation into the II PU mathematics question paper leak. The CID officials are contemplating meeting officials Department of Pre-University Education on Thursday.
