March 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated December 04, 2021 11:35 pm IST - Bengaluru:

A day after the case of IAS officer D.K. Ravi’s death was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department, the State government on Wednesday afternoon transferred Pronab Mohanty, Inspector-General of Police, CID, and replaced him with Prathap Reddy.

Mr. Mohanty was in the midst of the probe when he was transferred. He has been posted as IGP, Lokayukta.

Sources, however, said the proposal to transfer Mr. Mohanty had been in the offing for sometime now and the transfer during the probe was only coincidental.

Sources said Mr. Reddy was abroad on an assignment and Mr. Mohanty would hold charge at the CID and guide the probe till Mr. Reddy would take charge.

He has been replaced by Prathap Reddy
