“Over 20 men gathered around my car and starting shaking it. I was terrified and stayed put. I locked all the doors,” Seema Jain, an executive of an IT firm on Hosur Road.
She was one of the many motorists trapped in the traffic bottleneck.
“The men were screaming at me to come out, leaving me petrified. I saw similar scenes around, apart from tyres being burnt and vehicles damaged in stone pelting,” added Ms. Jain on her ordeal on the Bommanahalli-Garvebavi Palya Junction stretch.
Girish. N. Kerodi says, “I was heading to a client meeting in Koramangala, along with two colleagues, when we got stuck near Silk Board for nearly two hours. There was some fire and commotion. Initially we thought it was an accident but soon realised, through the internet, that it was a protest by garment workers.”
Kerodi, who owns a digital marketing firm, took to social media to warn others to avoid the stretch.
