“I know my duties and responsibilities that are prescribed in the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976. While your suggestions are welcome, there is no hard and fast rule that I must abide by them,” said M.K. Shankarlinge Gowda, BBMP Commissioner. He lost his cool in the BBMP Council meeting on Wednesday when Chamarajpet councillor B.V. Ganesh spoke about the duties of the Commissioner and quoted relevant Sections from the Act. Mr. Ganesh had earlier pointed out that the Commissioner had failed to crack the whip on officials for not implementing solid waste management.
