Hostel workers call off strike

Hostel workers on Wednesday called off their indefinite strike after the State government promised to discuss their demands on June 20. Hundreds of hostel workers had been protesting in Bengaluru since Tuesday against the possible replacement of 20,000 cooks, assistant cooks and security guards employed in pre-matric and post-matric hostels, residential schools and colleges for the last two decades.
