Hike in polytechnic fee

June 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:50 pm IST - BENGALURU:

Following the hike in fees for medical and engineering courses, the fee for polytechnics is also set to go up.

Though the Department of Technical Education (DTE) said the hike in fee is five per cent, which is the allowed annual increase, the actual hike for this year is over 20 per cent.

This is being attributed to the fact that there was no hike since 2012-13.

DTE officials said the revised fee will be applicable for the next five years.

New fee structure

The new fee structure is as follows — government college: from Rs. 2,300 to Rs. 2,800; aided college: Rs. 4,400 to Rs. 5,350; management quota for Karnataka students: Rs. 9,450 to Rs. 11,500; for non-Karnataka students: Rs. 15,500 to Rs. 18,500.
