Help for those stranded in Uttarakhand

Four days after the flash floods-hit Uttarakhand, the disaster management cell of the State government has deputed two IAS officers to rush to the region to coordinate the rescue of people from Karnataka stranded there.

Deputy Secretary K.S. Sarojammma, in charge of the cell, said rescue operations by the defence personnel and local administration is in full swing.

Those stranded are sheltered in relief camps and control rooms opened at various places to facilitate coordination.
