Head constable held on charge of duping job aspirants

A head constable and a tutorial instructor are among the four arrested by the Central Crime Branch officials for allegedly trying to dupe hundreds of constable job aspirants by promising to provide them question papers.

The accused were identified as Vinay Gowda (28), tutorial instructor at Sira town in Tumakuru, Narendra Babu (31) and Manju Gowda (29), members of an NGO, and Gurumurthy (46), head constable attached to the Hassan District Armed Reserve. They were arrested from a lodge in Cottonpet.

Rs. 3 lakh from each aspirant

According to the police, the accused approached aspirants writing the exam for selection to the post of police constable that was scheduled for Sunday.

They had taken Rs. 3 lakh from each person after promising to provide question papers a few hours before the exam.
