The Karnataka High Court on Thursday set July 15 as the deadline to take a decision on reserving seats for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Justice L. Narayanaswamy issued the direction while refusing to give 10 more days sought by the State government to decide on the reservation row.

“For the past three months, the government has only been seeking time. This can’t go on indefinitely,” the court told the government counsel when 10 more days were sought by the government for examining the issues on the reservation.
