HC notice to State, BBMP on potholes

November 08, 2017 12:11 am | Updated 12:11 am IST - Bengaluru

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered issue of notices to the State government and the BBMP on a petition seeking direction to fill potholes in a scientific manner in the city.

A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice H.G. Ramesh and Justice P.S. Dinesh Kumar passed the order on a PIL petition filed by Dove Drive Without Borders Foundation, Bengaluru. Pointing out that accidents were occurring because of potholes, the petitioner-foundation has also complained that non-installation of signage indicating the presence of road dividers and humps is also a cause for accidents in the city. The petitioner has contended that no action was taken by the authorities to protect the interests of motorists.
