HC asks for suggestions to prevent question paper leakage

June 28, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 04:48 pm IST - Bengaluru:

The Karnataka High Court on Monday asked the State government and an educational Trust to come out with suggestions to prevent instances like leakage of question paper and confusion over awarding grace marks to contentious questions.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice Ravi Malimath issued oral direction in this regard during the hearing of a PIL petition, filed by Mudbidri-based Bhuvana Jyothi Educational Trust, which sought a direction from the court not to consider II Pre-university marks for admission to any professional course on the lines of admission to MBBS course.

Though the Department of Pre-University Education had admitted grant of grace marks to only those students who had attempted eight contentious questions, it had pleaded to the court that any changes in consideration of marks for selection to professional course would impact the entire process this year. Further hearing has been adjourned till July 5.
