Is there a leaky pipeline in your area that needs urgent repair? Or do you need to complain about a project progressing at snail’s pace?

Citizens from across the State, excluding Bengaluru, can get the attention of the authorities by contacting the Control Room and Response Centre that was inaugurated at Jal Bhavan here on Monday by Minister for Urban Development Vinaykumar Sorake.

The centre will be manned round the clock by officials of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWSDB) with the objective of providing better services and bringing in transparency.

To begin with, the centre will cover 213 towns across the State. On a pilot basis, the services will be extended to all 90,000 villages in the State. In this regard, the board was in talks with the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. “We have also written to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts. The scope of the response centre is immense and we want to exploit it fully,” an official told The Hindu .

The official said the centre, at the moment, will provide clarification or suggestion, register consumers’ complaints and offer technical assistance, apart from providing information about tenders, status of work and project management queries.

The centre can be contacted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/karnatakawater), email (waterboard161@gmail.com), the official website (ocr.kuwsdb.org). Citizens can also send an SMS (water ) to 9220092200, call (080)40001000 or WhatsApp the complaint to 9880655555.
