Habitual offender arrested

The Varthur Police have arrested a 28-year-old habitual offender and recovered three gold chains worth nearly Rs. 2.5 lakhs from him.

The accused Manjunath, alias Mental Manja, was caught while roaming suspiciously in Varthur looking for target. Police officials patrolling the area, caught him and brought to the station for questioning.

A detailed questioning led him to confess to two chain-snatching incidents reported in Varthur and HSR Layout police station reported recently.

A native of Doddaballapura, Manjunath would come to Bengaluru everyday and target elderly women on morning and evening walk.

The police are investigating further to ascertain his involvement in other criminal activities.
